The fluted vase - Model 4767 - was introduced for the first time in 1938 and relaunched in 2015. We have now redesigned and refined it to make the flutes appear even sharper.
The stoneware vases are slip casted, and handmade in the EU following the same techniques, that we have always used at Michael Andersen.
Stoneware and glaze are transformed during firing in the kiln, thus there will be natural variations in shape and glaze, which makes every single vase unique.
The raw stoneware can be seen In the bottom of the vase with the model number 4767 engraved and a relief of the Michael Andersen's iconic logo with the three fish.
For the flowers to last longer, it's important that the vase is clean before placing the next bouquet.
Stoneware is very durable, and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
